15 Days: Part 31 – July 16th to July 31st 2026
It’s Alive! The Testing Shelf…It’s Alive!
And we’re back to the day-to-day, after the excitement and celebration of Part 30. To be honest, I’m still celebrating. The win hasn’t quite sunk in yet but it will at some point. I’ll carry these feelings, experiences, and memories with me for a very long time. I’m still very, very grateful.
For now, it’s 15 Days: Part 31. And this is what I have for you:
- My Testing Shelf Makes Its Debut
- UrbX Warriors Upcoming Kickstarter
- Fitness Update
- Sleepytime Village First Round of QA Complete

My Testing Shelf Makes Its Debut: I’ve written about this for a long time but never actually started putting it together. What you see in this photo is probably 70% of what I have readily available. There’s at least one more magazine to add, and certainly some more PS5 mock-ups (for both released and upcoming titles). Then there’s some official physical editions that are not available yet like (spoilers…) Sleepytime Village. Also, I need to find a way to display that GCX 2024 Destiny 2 Community Game Manual. A frame? Some clear plastic covering? I’m not sure but it’s a fun problem to have and this whole shelf is a wonderful reminder of the work I’ve done and the wonderful titles I’ve tested. Not to mention that really awesome Game Dev Heroes QA award! 😍
Anyway, I’ll keep sharing this as I add things to it. I strongly suspect it may expand into a second shelf in time but we’ll see. For now, I thought you’d like to see it.
UrbX Warriors Upcoming Kickstarter: Wait. What? Didn’t this already happen? Yes, but that was for the Spectrum Next version of UrbX Warriors, and development is in full swing on that. No, this one is for UrbX Warriors to be, and I quote: ‘a super enhanced 16-bit version for the Amiga AGA and Sega Mega Drive / Genesis!’.
It’s looking fantastic and, as long as this blog goes out before that Kickstarter begins, if you click the ‘Notify me on launch’ button found via the link below, you automatically enter a competition to win the same Mega Drive used in development of the game, signed by Tony and Stoo. But you’ll have to be quick, the campaign is launching soon!

Fitness Update: Well, it’s not gone quite as I had planned. Almost immediately after Brighton and Game Dev Heroes, I became unwell. Just a chest cough, cold and headaches but it was enough to knock me off my stride for a couple of weeks, and I had to cancel everything I had planned while I recovered.
I’ve not been unwell like this for years and I usually fight it off but not this time. So, no exercise done for two weeks but plenty of medicine, sleep and rest. My motivation remains the same though and, as I write this, I am now feeling much better and back to my usual self. I’ll be back at it within the next few days, I’m sure.
Sleepytime Village First Round of QA Complete: Yes, I have been testing Sleepytime Village! That may not come as much of a surprise considering I also tested the demo but to get to grips with the game proper has been a real treat. We worked through a lot of niggly issues and James has been working hard to fix everything I throw at him. I think we’ve covered a lot of great stuff. To the point where the game is now being prepared for that exciting phase of beta-testing, which brings its own kind of challenges but is always well worth the effort.

I enjoyed what I played of Sleepytime Village very much and I think once it’s out, it will be very well-received. The demo is ready to play on Steam if you’re interested, and can be found via this link: Sleepytime Village Demo
And that, for now, is it. A much shorter 15 Days this time, after the emotional rollercoaster of Part 30! I have to say thanks to everyone who has wished me well and offered congratulations after Game Dev Heroes, along with the very positive responses I’ve had regarding the blog itself. I never quite know how it lands so to hear that people connect with it in some positive way is heartwarming and it really does mean a lot to me. Thank you!
I will continue to be my authentic self here. Why wouldn’t I? I’ve found the place I feel I belong.
Until next time, as always, stay safe and thank you for reading.
Paul.
